As a drama producer for the BBC I’ve worked with Bernie as the designer on two occasions,
one a 90’ single, the other a 10x 30’ for both of which I was entirely happy with her contribution.
While keeping absolutely truthful to the specific detail the story demands Bernie works with great flair and imagination and to both schedule and budget.
Bernie is also an excellent team leader, attracts talented people and possesses great communication skill in dealing with myself, the director(s) and with other H.O.D.’s however demanding the pressure is. I always appreciated her cheerful and calm presence on both productions.
I have no hesitation in recommending her and look forward to working with her again myself.

Bernie and I worked together when I was series producing Holby City. Our brilliant Line Producer, Lynn Grant, had managed to secure the budget to significantly overhaul a number of sets, though this required working around a number of units necessarily shooting at the time, with minimum disruption to the schedule - something that looked like a near impossible task. Bernie led her excellent team with energy, warmth, calmness and passion, constantly communicated her vision and always worked collaboratively with all concerned to achieve exceptional results - utterly belying the budget involved. I thoroughly enjoyed what could otherwise have been a stressful period and feel extremely proud of Bernie for all that she achieved, with customary panache and aplomb. I’d work with Bernie again in a heartbeat and hope to do so again at the earliest opportunity.

It’s exciting working with Bernie! She is that rare combination of someone who has a brilliant, vibrant imagination and the skills to bring it to life as real environments or lived experiences.
